What is Eyelid Surgery?
Your eyes are the first thing people see, and improvement here makes a big impact. Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, removes excess skin and fat from around the eyes. In women in their 30s and 40s, one of the first signs of aging skin is baggy lower eyelids or excess skin in the upper eyelid. That worrisome excess skin that makes it difficult for you to apply eye shadow can also make you look more tired. Luckily, eyelid surgery can correct these imperfections.
If you’d like to set up a consultation with Dr. Banks to discuss your eyelid surgery, please give us a call today. We would be happy to discuss eyelid surgery prices or any other aspect of the procedure that you have questions about. In the meantime, we suggest viewing some eyelid surgery before and after pictures to see how amazing the results truly are.
How is Eyelid Surgery Performed?
The eyelid surgery procedure removes skin and fat through incisions placed in naturally occurring creases in the eyelids. Your eye lift can also be combined with fat transfers or fillers to smooth the junction between the eyelid skin and the cheek or to plump up the cheeks.
How Do I Know if Eyelid Surgery is Right for Me?
Eyelid surgery is popular among men and women who want to look youthful and rested. So if you are tired of your puffy eyes, dark circles or wrinkles, this procedure may be for you. And you can rest assured that eyelid surgery will not change the brow position or give you a surprised look. Rather, you’ll have a very natural, subtle improvement that will leave you looking refreshed and rejuvenated. See for yourself in our eyelid surgery before and after pictures.
What Type of Post-Operative Eyelid Surgery Care Can I Expect?
Patients can expect minimal pain following eyelid surgery. You will have swelling and bruising that will last approximately one to two weeks. After one week, you can wear makeup or concealer. It is not uncommon to have tearing or dry eyes while your eyelids are healing. Sutures are removed at five days. Down time is one week for upper eyelids and one to two weeks for lower eyelids.
